Marcílio Nhampossa, Project Assistant

Marcílio H. Crespino Nhampossa is 22 years old and was born on November 22nd, 1981 in Chókwè, which is located in Gaza Province. He began primary school in 1989 at the age of eight and completed it in 1995. He started Jr. High (middle school) in 1995 and after completing 6th and 7th grade graduated to begin studying 8th grade at Chókwè's high school (secondary school). He is currently studying 12th grade at night and hopes to pass the final exams in November.

Marcílio has three brothers by the same mother and a half-brother.

In 2000, after the floods he worked for a NGO (non-governmental organization) called Doctors Without Borders.

Along with his studies he is currently teaching at Matuba a primary school found nine kilometers from Chókwè. The village of Matuba houses a primary school which is not in good condition. Marcílio teaches 3rd grade under some trees.

Besides teaching and studying he is also taking part in The World Through My Eyes as teaching assistant and is particularly helpful in translating from Portuguese to Changana (the local language).
